The Earth has a clock that is ticking down to the point were it will rebalance things violently and decisively. We are merely tenants and no were near as powerful as nature and all the other forces out there. But we do have the ability to gradually steer the ship as such. I chose just 2 of most prominent facts in this video: 1. The way we are adding to the problem, and: 2. Taking away the things that are solving it. The number of people that still don’t believe humans affect global warming could well be in the billions! But I could not confirm this figure so I left it out of the video! So imagine the numbers of people who don’t do enough to help combat it all! Even one minute counts! Hope you like it…

Very impressive. Straightforward messages appear according to the ticking of a clock. It urges us to take some action quickly. Very persuasive video.

Clear, concise and very clever. This is far and away the most simple yet arresting warning of our planets health I’ve seen to date. It would be extremely effective as a TV advertisement. Well done.

Yes rob that BBC report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8299079.stm (What happened to global warming?). Its things like that that confuses people. It is almost impossible to say exactly what is going to happen. But all we can do is go with the majority of scientists and I believe it’s about 97 percent of climatologist are in favour of humans affecting global warming. That’s why I like this video by Dominic, it hits on the biggest problems we have with this situation: convincing the many sceptics and undecided people. It does say at the end of that report that we did get a bit of cooling but it temporary anyway!

Hmmmmmmm I just logged on to check my video stuff and saw a number of people marked my video down considerably this morning and then I checked how many people played my video on vimeo this morning and it was 0! Something fishy is going on here! It also seems just about all the other video averages are going down fast and some are going up hmmmm…the fun of online voting :D!

Indeed - the cutting down of vast quantities of trees just makes no sense to me. We simply need to be increasing (by a great amount) the amount of trees on the planet, and work towards sustaining an equilibrium to maintain industry and jobs, but also to keep locking the carbon away in the trees themselves.
However, it is also important - when re-establishing forests - for it to be done correctly. The right kind of trees, planted in the correct way, so that it becomes a fertile area again, and not a good intention wasted (e.g. man-made forest floors possibly becoming lifeless because the trees had been planted too close together).

Why is is that this film and the other 4 films have been allowed to be submitted well after the deadline date? Clearly there is some collusion between the judges. They might also answer as to why a number of comments complaining about this are not being published?

In a competition, there are always finalists and those who don’t get through. The problem we had was that there were so many fantastic videos to choose from that there was inevitably going to be great films that didn’t make it, especially as we had to meet a criteria for each category.
However, we’ve decided to rectify this a little and reward 5 more great videos. These have been added to the shortlist and will also guaranteed receive a subscription to Shooting People. They will be on our homepage soon.
