I am a postgraduate in Communication with the experience of working in various sectors of media, keen on all conventional and unconventional forms of filmmaking, considering film as a collaborative art, a creative craft of communication and a passionate mission. I have done twenty short fictions on various themes and participatory documentary films on tribal, gypsy as well as rural communities in India. I have also done academic documentary films about festivals in South India for National Folklore Support Centre, as part of Kancipuram research project by OSLO University, Norway. Since January 2010, I am doing Film Studies in Northumbria University, Newcastle and at the same time works with Skimstone studio, Newcastle realising audiovisual artworks with young people as well as older people as active participants of creation. At the moment, I am also doing research on filmmaking considering it as a democratic collaborative process-led art form for representing the vision of various communities.
